Sightseeing in Puerto Rico
|
At the very southwestern tip of the island at the end of a dirt road, about a two and a half hour
drive from San Juan, you can find Punta Jágüeyes and the Cabo Rojo lighthouse.
At nearly the same spot, but looking inland, you gaze across Bahia Sucia (Dirty Bay) and the
Bermeja range.
El Morro Castle, built by Spain in the sixteen century to defend the entrance to San Juan harbor.
Photographed in the early hours of the day, and still illuminated, it gives the appearance of being
made of the gold it was built to defend.
The cliffs at Guajataca, on the northen coast of Puerto Rico, about one hour west of San Juan,
just off of PR#2. A good surfing beach is just a short drive west of this spot.
Vacia Talega, a good bathing beach, twenty-five minutes east of San Juan, past Piñones but before
Loiza on PR#187.
